Bulgarian literature – a glimpse of what you ought to know

Those of you who follow the Istros blogs and Facebook know that last week was focused on Bulgarian literature, with the editor in Sozopol and Sofia for a literary event organised by the Elizabeth Kostova Foundation.

In order to give you an insight into the Bulgarian scene and the talented writing on offer, here are a few links to examples that impressed us…..

…be transported to a lighter universe with Damianov’s Diary of a Butterfly

….take a road trip with KarabashlievKarabashliev, Zachary

….get sexy with Virginia Zaharieva’s quirkily named ‘9 Rabbits‘, soon to be published in the UK (by us!)
